Barbara E. Shields, J.D., CFP®, CTFA

Barbara E. Shields is a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington (B.A.) and The University of Texas School of Law (J.D.) who has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas for more than thirty years.
 
A graduate of the College for Financial Planning, she received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., in 1997. She has sixteen years' experience in financial planning and wealth management firms. Financial planning services are provided on a fee-only basis.

Her experience also includes eighteen years in banking, providing trust and estate administration services as a Vice President and Trust Officer with Fort Worth banks. She was awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation by the Institute of Certified Bankers of the American Bankers Association in 1992.

She is a member of the:

  • National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys
  • State Bar of Texas, Real Estate, Probate and Trust Section, and Animal Law Section
  • Tarrant County Bar Association, Tax and Estate Planning Section
  • Rotary Club of Western Fort Worth
  • Trinity Episcopal Church

She enjoys the Fort Worth Opera and the Fort Worth Symphony, and she is the proud parent of two beautiful cats, Julian and Leonora.
